Welcome to your Nest

Safe, personalised midwifery care for pregnancy, birth and early parenthood in Jersey.

Welcome to your Nest.

The Nest Pregnancy and Parenthood (formerly Positive Birth Jersey) is Jersey's only independent private midwifery service — offering calm, personalised care through pregnancy, birth and early parenthood, plus midwife-led antenatal education and Hypnobirthing courses.

Founded by Registered Midwife May Bourne, The Nest is built on one simple idea: you deserve to feel safe, heard and truly cared for.

— your midwife.

I believe every family deserves to be truly known and cared for on their journey to parenthood. With over fifteen years of midwifery experience across NHS, community and home birth settings, I offer warm, unhurried, one-to-one care that puts you at the heart of every decision.

Whether you'd like support throughout your entire pregnancy and postnatal journey, or just for a single appointment, my aim is simple — to help you feel heard, confident and cared for, every step of the way.

Registered with the NMC and JCC, and fully insured for antenatal and postnatal care.

"As both a GP and a father, I have seen firsthand the exceptional care May provides to women and families. Through her Hypnobirthing course and her work as a community midwife, she consistently demonstrated professionalism, compassion and excellent clinical judgement.

May's approach empowers women to make informed decisions, ask questions with confidence and feel truly involved in their maternity care. Her Hypnobirthing course was balanced, evidence-based and incredibly valuable, helping us feel prepared, informed and supported throughout pregnancy and birth.

During my wife’s early labour, May's calm, reassuring presence and commitment to safety gave us enormous confidence at a time of uncertainty. She combines advocacy for women's choices with sound clinical decision-making, always placing the wellbeing of mother and baby first. May is exactly the kind of midwife I would want caring for my own family and for my patients."
