"After a long and challenging journey to parenthood, May provided the reassurance, knowledge and unwavering support we needed every step of the way. She listened to our concerns, empowered us to make informed decisions, and helped us regain confidence during a pregnancy complicated by previous losses and multiple risk factors.

When we felt overwhelmed by medical recommendations, May stood beside us as both advocate and guide, ensuring we understood our options and could make choices that felt right for our family. Thanks to her compassionate, evidence-based care, we welcomed our healthy baby girl into the world with confidence and joy. May's dedication, accessibility and genuine commitment to empowering women made all the difference, and we will be forever grateful for the incredible start she helped us give our daughter."

Birth Debrief Consultation

£200

Birth can be one of life's most significant experiences. Whether your birth was positive, unexpected or difficult to process, this dedicated appointment offers a safe, impartial and supportive space to explore what happened, ask questions, gain a better understanding of your labour and birth experience and discuss future birth if you wish.

To ensure our discussion is as personalised and informative as possible, I ask that you obtain a copy of your maternity records from the Government of Jersey before your appointment by submitting a Subject Access Request (SAR). Please send your records to me securely in advance, allowing sufficient time for me to review them before we meet (the appointment fee is inclusive of this preparation time). Reviewing your records enables me to discuss your care in detail, explain the clinical decisions made during your labour and birth, and answer any questions you may have.

Please note: Subject Access Requests can take up to four weeks to be processed by the Government of Jersey. If you are considering a birth debrief, I recommend requesting your records as early as possible so that we can arrange your appointment once they have been received. Please contact me if you require support or guidance to submit a Subject Access Request.

Important Information Regarding Private Midwifery Care

To ensure you have access to routine maternity screening, ultrasound scans and hospital maternity services, we recommend that all women register their pregnancy with the Government of Jersey Maternity Service as early as possible. This includes attending the initial booking appointment, where your pregnancy is formally registered and routine screening options are discussed. This ensures that the time of your birth, the local maternity service is aware of your initial pregnancy booking and relevant medical information. Following this initial appointment, many aspects of your ongoing antenatal and postnatal care can be provided by The Nest. Depending on your individual circumstances and preferences, your routine antenatal and postnatal appointments can be undertaken by your private midwife, with communication with the Government-funded maternity team whenever required. Alternatively, you may wish to see both the midwife from your local maternity service and your private midwife. It is entirely your choice, and you do not have to choose one or the other. Our aim is to provide personalised, continuous midwifery care throughout your pregnancy and postnatal period while ensuring you remain connected to local maternity services (including midwives and Obstetricians) should you need or choose them.
